A Gold Medal winner at the 2009 Hungarian National Wine Competition. Szamorodni is a style of sweet Hungarian wine from the Tokaji region. It is different from the Aszú style in that the fermentation of these wines is arrested at a certain point; by doing this, the wines are comparable to a 2 or 3 puttonyos Aszú (sometimes higher). Matured for at least 2 or 3 years prior to release, they have a natural lightly oxidative character. Enjoy it chilled. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
