Peninsula Ridge Shiraz 2010
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Peninsula Ridge Shiraz 2010 Wine Review
Loaded with oak, toast and smoke on the nose along with dark chocolate and mocha notes. Black fruit and tar on the palate. Great for hearty meat dishes. Full-bodied. Nice price. 4.4/5 Shiraz food pairings: pepper steak, roast beef. Smart Buy Wine

*NOTE I am reviewing the 2011. Bright red and clear colour. This wine is a little under-ripe, with notes of sour cherry, rasberry, bell pepper, earth, green herb, green peppercorn, and a little bit of sweet tobacco. Would make a great food-friendly wine for pairing with pizza.
