A full-bodied Australian red wine blend of traditional Rhone varieties: Shiraz (about 90%) and Mourvèdre (about 10%) grapes with terrific structure and depth. Judicious use of oak wraps around blackberries and some dark spice notes. The wine was aged in second use American oak barrels. A pleasantly long, dry finish. Another classic red from Australia. Perfect for grilled meats: smooth yet robust. Finishes with dark fruits, pepper and spice. Pair with braised meats or stew.

Deep red plum in color, this is a full bodied red wine that is a blend of Shiraz (82%) and Mataro (18%). For this particular vintage there was an abundance of Winter and early Spring rainfall that yielded moisture rich soil for the vines, coupled with warm weather in key periods yielded strong flavors from the grapes. On the nose there is dark cherry and herbs. The palate is rich and complex with licorice, chocolate, dark fruit, vanilla and biscotti. Medium bodied, lingering shiraz fruit finish.

From South Australia's Barossa Valley, Penfolds Bin 2 (2014) is a red wine blend of 90% Shiraz and 10% Mataro (Mourvèdre). The first vintage of this wine was made in 1960. Penfolds winery itself has 170 year history of winemaking. - Community Wine Reviews
