A juicy, black-fruited tasty wonder from the Spanish wine region of Navarra. Perfumed purple and black plum aromas on the nose with an intriguing savoury note on the finish. This will also do well in the cellar for a few years. Pair with grilled pork chops. Great price.

Food pairings: barbecued meats, stews featuring beef and root veggies.

Reviews and Ratings

Produced by Bodega San Francisco Javier, this Spanish red wine is made from mostly Grenache and has lots of attractive dark fruit and spice. The winery is located in the old village of Sada in one of the coolest wine growing regions of Navarra. The vines are 40 years old and low yielding. The Crianza is aged for 12 months in mostly American and French oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
