Vintages Wine Panel: Deep purple-ruby in color, this Syrah is packed with ripe fruit accented by spicy notes. The nose opens to sweet blackberry, black cherry, anise and black pepper. These flavors carry through on the palate, whose plush fruit flirts with jamminess but is restrained by fine, silky-smooth tannins. Very approachable. My note: Plush, plush, plush! Land a satin cushion of plums and berries, bounce to a basket of flavor. Full-bodied with boundless flavor and energy. Yay!

Syrah food pairings: grilled back ribs, barbecue chicken wings.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nice Californian Syrah. This FRUITY to integrated, full bodied wine has notes of raspberry, red currant, blackberry and vanilla. Tannins are refined to tannic (decant for 15 min) and the finish is silky with a medium to long length. It is good now till 2013/14 (don't let the fruit dissipate). My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts - a recommended buy. Tasted May/10.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
