Black pepper sprinkled over wild black cherries on a bed of violets. Full-bodied, exotic and delightful. Layers of hedonistic pleasure. The finish goes on and on.

Syrah food pairings: roast rack of lamb, grilled bison burgers, roast of venison with red currant and red wine coulis.

Reviews and Ratings

Kathryn Poole reviewed this wine as follows:

Pre-release purchase /aged 18 months 80% in French oak
This is made in the classic northern Rhone style, with pepper and black cherry aromas and with a medley of flavours, from black cherry to spiced deli meats. On the palate, this complex wine surprises by delivering a delicious core of sweet berry flavours

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
