Pinot Noir food pairings: herbed roast beef, planked salmon, pizza, fritatta.

Astrid Young Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Fresh as a County morning, loads of ripe red cherry and strawberry fruit up front. In fact, it's like a strawberry social in a glass! Good one, Norm. I have been following these wines since their humble beginnings, and they keep getting better and better. The strawberry jello aspect is the one that i like best, jumps right out of the glass and makes you just want to drink it up. To its core, its pure pinot-ness is undeniable, and unfolds on the mid and back like a red carpet of fruit. subtle acidity carries a surge of bright ripeness that is undeniably delicious.
Terry Jeans rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Fresh field strawberries and red cherries, with underbrush and white pepper make this a great example of the Prince Edward County at it's best. Fresh and clean on the palate with a lot of the same replays of the nose. Delicious and highly recommended!
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This Pinot Noir has a lovely light colour. Sweet berries on the nose. A lovely light taste with strawberry and vanilla. Smooth finish. This wine would pair nicely with a light summer salad or creamy cheeses.
Matt Steeves, Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Year after year, Norman Hardie produces world-class Pinot at his Prince Edward County winery. Unfiltered so as to not strip away any of the complex aromas or flavours from this delicious wine. The nose has raspberry, cherry, dried and fresh herbs. Lovely cherry and herbal flavours play on this long finishing county wine. Tasted November 2014. 92 points. Heather Wall CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Magnificent expression again of County pinot. Had the pleasure of tasting this newly released Pinot Noir from Norman Hardie at the winery this past weekend during Wassail*.
From the first sniff comes the earthiness and cherry. Second nose has floral, more cherry, cranberry, dried herbs and vanilla.
The palate loves the silkiness of the wine. The tannins are there but the fruit and County minerality balance them beautifully. The wine is drinking nicely right now but definitely has aging potential. It will be interesting to taste in 1 year and then 3 years. Even 5 years!
I paired the wine with the beef stew the winery cooked up in the tasting room. Perfect. Great pizza wine too. Or Just sip and savour...

*Wassail - Old English tradition of wishing good health and end of harvest by raising a glass of cider. PEC celebrates end of grape harvest and burying/protecting vines from harsh winter ahead. And raising a glass of wine. Happy Wassailing!
Lori Kilmartin rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Once again Norm Hardie's County Pinot shines! Each vintage just keeps getting better and better. The nose is layered with aromas of fruit, leather, vanilla, spice...and the list goes on. Soft, supple mouth feel and the flavours of cranberry linger. No worries about food pairing as I think I would drink it all before dinner was ready! Drink now or keep for a few years.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Earthy, strawberry with a little new leather, baking spices and cranberry. The taste is strawberry and cranberry, with a very balanced acidity and silky mouth-feel. This would ppair very nicely with an herbed pork roast.
Lynn van der Linde Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From the very first aromas of cherries, nutmeg and cloves, through to the cranberry and orange rind palate, this beautiful 2012 County Unfiltered Pinot Noir has me yelling "Bring on Christmas!" I'll be pairing this beauty with Christmas Tortiere for sure.
Jennifer Macdonald rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful cranberry colour. Light, fragrant, cherry and strawberry, with an undertone of leather and earth. Tart cherry and cranberry on the palate. Great wine for turkey dinner.
Shelley Harris rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

A wine with vanilla aromas that follows up with vanilla and sweet cherry tastes. This nice light red would go well with a casual dinner of vegetarian pizza and friends.
Tom Vigeant reviewed this wine as follows:

Complex earthiness overlay red berries and pepper on nose. Lively acidity, light to medium body, minerality and tart red berry flavours. Classic Norman Hardie style.
Another very fine expression of the County from Pinot maestro Norm Hardie. Opens with alluring notions of beetroot, red roses, red cherry and raspberry that echo in bright, juicy and lively fashion on the palate. Tons of attractive red fruit here. Most impressive, though, is this wine’s understated elegance. Look for this wine to show well over 5+ years. A good choice tonight. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Feb. 2013
