Natalie's Score: 96/100

A lusciously layered Australian dessert wine made from the classic Semillon grape. Rich aromas and flavours of honeyed apricot and peach preserves. Lovely nose of orange blossom, honey wax and white flowers. Terrifically concentrated sweetness at 231 grams per litre of residual sugar. Spreads with gorgeous textural weight across the palate. Australian dessert wines are often referred to as "stickies" however, there's nothing cloying about this wine and the only aspect that stickie is the memory of its taste. It has a refreshing finish. Pair with lemon tart, soft cheeses and smoked nuts.

Semillon food pairings: mango or tropical cheesecake, blue cheese, fig tarte.

Reviews and Ratings

This Australian dessert wine is made 100% from Semillon grapes. Noble One is known for its bright amber colour and apricot jam, floral honey and cake spice nose. The finish is long with orange zest honey sweet but not cloying. In fact, this dessert wine is luscious and made by renown Australian producer, De Bortoli. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
