Lemon zest and chives with great freshness in this half bottle size. Great for nights when you're on your own, or when you want to start with a glass of wine with salad then move on to a different wine with the main dish.

The 2011 The Fumé, North Coast Sauvignon Blanc suggests white grapefruit and bitter melon, nose-wise, and zaps the tongue with a tartness to rival Eureka lemon, or nearly so. This one’s not just crisp, it’s puckering-tart. A higher percentage of barrel aging (it’s mostly not) might have mellowed it out; that said, it’s pretty good.
