Natalie's Score: 90/100

Beautifully toasty, with fresh baked bread aromas on the nose of this sparkling wine. This is a blend of 90% viura and 10% malvasia grapes for this D.O. cava. Terrific notes of green apple and lime fresh on the palate. Pretty amazing for the price. Try with oysters or clams.

Cava Metodo Tradicional food pairings: turkey, shellfish, pasta, charcuterie, vegetarian casseroles.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The toasty, smoky perfumed bouquet pulls through to meet crunchy green apple notes on the palate. Generous body and well balanced. Great value, and an interesting bubble alternative.
The grapes for this sparkling wine grow in vineyards in the Rioja region, which are also part of Prado Enea. This region is the coldest area of the valley and so the grapes are planted with mixed varieties and mature slowly which results in more complex flavours. The wine is then fermented and matured in the winery cellars located in Haro. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
