Reviews and Ratings

This Vinho Verde is a crisp white wine from Sogrape Vinhos that is green melon fresh and mouth-watering: loaded with personality. Great aperitif or companion to shellfish. This lively white really highlights the refreshing nature of the Alvarinho grape, which is known in Spain as AlbariƱo. Vibrant notes of lime-citrus course through the glass with a lovely silver seam of acidity to keep things interesting, especially with seafood. Finishes with stonefruit and white grapefruit notes. Terrific minerality. MINE: This Vinho Verde made from the Alvarinho grape is a crisp, white wine with green melon, lime-citrus and a mineral spritz. Fresh with a vibrant, mouthwatering acidity. Serve chilled on the patio with any seafood fare. OTHER: The 2015 Alvarinho "Morgadio da Torre" is dry and unoaked. It is also beautifully made and constructed. Tightly wound in its youth, this focused and rather precise Alvarinho has a touch of green followed by hits of acidity. It is glorious in its youth. This is the opposite of lush. The acidity is notable and the wine has all that zing and zest. The sunny finish is invigorating and the wine is refreshing. That's what a lot of folks will want from Vinho Verde, right? The mid-palate solidity makes it a cut above, though, granting that it won't ever be the richest Alvarinho. I seem to be saying this a lot in this vintage, but this is a steal at the price. Even if it fades a bit faster than I suspect, it is awfully fine now. Drink Date: 2016-2020. Score - 90 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, June 29, 2016). - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
