Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 5, February 26, September 11 and July 26.
Mitolo Jester Shiraz 2007 Wine Review
Vintages Wine Panel: Mitolo continues to garner international accolades under the talented hands of winemaker Ben Glaetzer and owner Frank Mitolo. This full-bodied, juicy Shiraz delivers upfront and approachable aromas of chocolate-covered dark cherries, anise, allspice, coffee and hints of oak. My note: Rip-snorting good wine with blackberries, black cherry liqueur and vanilla smoke. A warm-hearted with a solid and pleasurable core of pure fruit. This wine is part of the Vintages Essentials Collection. 4.4/5 Shiraz food pairings: steak, stew, shepherd's pie, prime rib.
