This is a powerhouse of a wine, wow! Seductively rich, black cherry liqueur runs through its black heart. Full-bodied, velvet-smooth and hedonistically satisfying. Shiraz comes from the Chinese Block vineyard which is located in the Willunga district at the southern end of McLaren Vale. Biting acidity that isn't unpleasant just a surprise. Result > needs food like steak. Pair with brontosaurus burgers and King Henry VIII-style feasts (you may not need a fork and knife for the food, but you will--almost-- for this concentrated, chewy wine). Highly recommended.

Shiraz food pairings: stew, pizza, barbecued beef, bison steak, grilled or spice-rubbed chicken.

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Colour: Deep, vibrant crimson red. Bouquet: Lifted pure aromatics of darker berry fruits and spice: blackberries, plums, mocha, toasty vanilla oak. Palate: The palate is powerful and extremely focussed with great depth of fruit character that is well framed by fine grain tannin, and drawn together to a long finish by naturally balanced acidity.

This full-throttle Australian red wine is a blend of traditional grapes. Trivia tip: G.A.M. doesn't stand for a grape blend, but rather for the initials of the three Mitolo children - Gemma, Alex and Marco. Now you know. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
