Herbal, grassy refreshment and zest with a lovely energetic lime lift in the mid-palate. Terrific price for such quality. No oak contact means a bright lemon refreshment on the palate and finish. The Torres family bought the Santa Digna winery and vineyards in 1979 and invested in upgrading the facilities and grounds. There are more than 600 acres (245 hectares) of vines planted. Pair with vegetarian dishes, seafood and salads. Highly recommended. Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: lightly seasoned pan-fried freshwater fish, grilled prawns, chicken salad, pork tenderloin, linguine, light curries. Scrumptious Seafood Wine

The Chilean outpost of Spanish company Miguel Torres is well known for remarkable value, a distinction on fine display in this attractively priced white. Punchy characters of grass, lychee and lemon grass culminate in a vibrant, zesty finish. Try it with lively seafood dishes, including light curries. Score: 90.
