McWilliams Shiraz 2007
More Wine Reviews and Ratings
|Harvest Report: All regions throughout the 2007 vintage commenced with welcoming spring rains that provided a boost to the vines encouraging excellent fruit development. The months leading through to ripening were mild and dry resulting in well balanced fruit characters.|
Winemaker’s Notes: Vinified in a mixture of static and open top fermenters for up to a period of six days on skins. The wine was then pumped over up to eight times daily or headed down and drained and returned twice daily. After pressing, the wine was matured with a component in one to three year old French and American oak for up to nine months.
Colour: Crimson red with purple hues.
Bouquet: Dark black fruit aromas of dark plums and spice coupled with supporting chocolate oak.
Palate: Supple palate features rich spicy blood plums and red berry fruit flavours while being supported by integrated mocha oak, finishing in a lingering tannin finish. The wine is generous, soft and well balanced.
