Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A Grenache/Mourvedre blend with a nose of stewed fruit & raisins. The palate shows lots of dark stewed fruit, smoke, herbal touches, slight salinity and ripe red fruit. Very harmonious and smooth with a silky smooth-complex finish. A beauty.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Inky and juicy with blackberry, blueberry, cherry, prune, raisin on the nose. There seems to be a lot more on the palate with this wine. Baked cherry tarts, raisin and prune once again, licorice, sweet baking spices, vanilla, leather. A long baked fruit finish. Tannins are polishing and acidity is medium. This is a big elegant wine. An oxymoron? Maybe. Very nice now but has potential to age. I'd like to taste this in 10 years. Loved this wine.
Tasted: April 2015
This southern French red wine is made from grapes grown on low yielding vines that are 60+ years old. The vines are planted in the famous pebble and stony soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Pair with charcuterie and hard cheeses. The 2011 vintage of this Châteauneuf du Pape is a southern French red wine blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre grapes. The wine was matured in both concrete tank, foudre and oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
