Oh so yummy! Full-bodied and mouth-watering with rich, dark, ripe fruit and a lovely weave of oak. This wine is a blend of tempranillo, garnacha and mazuelo grapes. A Diana Krall wine: packs power in a velvet glove. Lovely long finish, like an encore for the senses.

Tempranillo Garnacha Mazuelo food pairings: black bean soup, short ribs, sharp cheddar, pork.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The 2006 Marqués De Murrieta Finca Ygay Reserva has intense aromas of dried cherry/black cherry, dark chocolate, oak, leather and faint vanilla. It is a medium to full-bodied, extra-dry, integrated to aged wine, with good acidity, refined tannins and a smooth and silky finish of long length. Drink as a sipper; now – 2020. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 92 pts – recommended due to both quality and value. Tasted July/13.

Perfumed and a touch exotic for Rioja, with coconut and floral berry aromas. Definitely full and ripe in the mouth, with sweet flavors that go back and forth between baked and sugary and rich and rewarding. A sweet, mature wine at its core, with molasses and brown sugar. Score: 90. Source: Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Dec. 15, 2011

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
