Reviews and Ratings

Buttery, rich and enveloping Californian Chardonnay. Lap it up in tonguefuls. Toasted almond on the finish. Pair with grilled fish. MINE: This is a well-structured, barrel-fermented Chardonnay (2014) is layered with tropical fruit, sweet spice, buttered toast and a refreshing acidity to match. Markham has been making wine in Napa since 1879. Pair with a good book. OTHER: Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: From Napa Valley, Cal, a barrel-fermented Chardonnay with lovely fragrances of tropical guava, ripe pineapple, vanilla and apple pie. The rich palate gives lots of tropical fruit, citrus lime, buttered toast and nutmeg. Very creamy, satiny mouthfeel with mouth-watering acidity. If you like a rich, full-bodied Chard, this is an excellent choice! Tasted July 2016. OTHER: Though James Suckling suggests drinking this wine now, you can expect it to provide enjoyment through 2020+. TASTING NOTE: Lemon rind, flint and cooked apple character follow through to a medium to full body, tangy fruit and a juicy finish. Screw cap. Drink now. Score - 90 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, March 20, 2017). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
