Gloriously and exotically unusual. If you haven't tried Condrieu, especially from renowned producer Chapoutier, you must. Surprising acidity is ready for many dishes, especially cream sauces on chicken, seafood and pasta. Gorgeous notes of peach, pear and baking spices. A finish that lasts almost as long as you can go back to the liquor store and buy another bottle. Stupendous.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The 2011 vintage is composed of 100% viognier varietal and is vilified in the French appellation Condrieu, found off the right bank of the Northern Rhone Valley. This wine is golden straw colored, brilliant and commands attention. With a brilliant aromatic profile of artichoke heart, minerality, clover-honey, Asian pear and orange blossom. This winds flavor profile matches it's aromatics with the addition of white lily, beeswax and a hint of eucalyptus. This wine is full-bodied, smooth and silky mouth feel, hi acidity, high fruit density and well-balanced. This wine offers a long finish with a persistence of slate minerality, white lilly floral, and honey. Recommend enjoying now or keeping until 2025. Recommend pairing with a pan seared haddock, lightly pan fried fillet of soul, vegan quinoa salad with sweet red peppers, shrimp cocktail with garlic butter. Definitely a wine to enjoy.
