This full-bodied, single vineyard Argentine red wine offers incredible depth, concentration and power. Black fruit and juicy goodness. This is a single-vineyard Uco Valley Cabernet Sauvignon featuring aromas of black raspberry and cloves. The vines for this robust Argentine Cabernet are planted in the foothills of the Andes. Finishes with dark fruit and toasty oak. Highly recommended.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled New York strip loin, barbecued ribs in sauce, braised pork shanks, strong cheeses, Margherita pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This isn’t the classic quality that some have previously adjudicated, but it is an outstanding wine that features loads of delicious black cherry and plum fruit, linzer torte, with fresh flowers, fresh cigar tobacco and sweet earth. There’s some crushed rock and dried blackberry on the midpalate and the finish is nice and long. The wood is incredibly well-integrated here, a credit to fruit quality in my view. Truly stunning for under 25 dollars. 92 (+) Points.
Bodega Piedra Negra Gran (2013) is the result of François Lurton and his brother, Jacques. They started making wine in Argentina as far back as 1992, in the Alta Uco Valley, at the foothills of the Andes and was the first wine made when they arrived in Argentina in 1992. They quickly discovered the potential of Cabernet Sauvignon in Argentina, In 1996 they planted Cabernet Sauvignon in their Finca Chacayes in Vista Flores. Today 10 to 15% of Malbec is included to give it even more of an Argentinean character. This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Uco Valley in Mendoza is a full-bodied single vineyard red with incredible power. Lots of black raspberry, spice and tannins. Needs some to time fully realize its potential. Decant for a couple of hours prior to serving or cellar for three years. - Community Wine Reviews
