Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Rioja... I find this such an curious grape that I want to get to understand more. There are some riojas that I love and blow me away and then there are some that i am left asking....thats a Rioja!!!
Obviously I need to drink more of this varietal to fully understand it!!!
This is one of those Riojas i loved!
Of all of the wines that we tasted on our day of wine tasting, this one truly stood out from the crow and for that i give it high marks. We all have a favourite styles but how refreshing to taste something that you wouldnt be able to pin point in a blind tasting!
On the nose there were a lot of mineral, almost a dampness in tone. Black fruits and black berries.
On the palate this is a wine full of terroir, tight black fruits and cassis, Licorice gives way to bitter dark chocolate. The tannins are firm and then allow spices of nutmeg and cinamon to present themselves before a great finish. I would drink this wine all by itself! But... if I really had to eat something with it i would go for a veal parmasaen or a tomato and basil based dish.
Bottoms up!
