Natalie's Score: 90/100

A full-bodied red with a towering structure, great depth of black fruit and tar flavour and a good grip on the palate. Decant for 2 hours for maximum pleasure. Long finish. Could use cellar time to mellow.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: rare steak, beef braised in red wine.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A concentrated core of blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry fruit, combined with firm but ripe tannin. The addition of 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Syrah to the blend adds complexity to the palate. This medium to full bodied wine offers both power and finesse and has the structure to develop in bottle over the next 5 years. Great for steak night.
A powerhouse blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Syrah that offers up rich notes of raspberry and blackcurrant with nice woodsmoke and vanilla. The palate is loaded with fruit and is, as always with this wine, impressively structured with firm tannins. This will reward 3-5 years of patience, but it can be enjoyed tonight, decanted for an hour. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, March 2013

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
