Reviews and Ratings

Produced by Pierre Laplace, this robust French red wine has a firm tannic grip on the palate (decant 1-2 hours). Offers aromas and flavours of black tart cherries, smoke, cedar and toasty oak. Cries out for a juicy, rare steak. MINE: Pierre Laplace is known for his deft handling of the Tannat grape. This full-bodied red wine is a blend of 80% Tannat and 20% cabernet that was partially barrel aged. OTHER: This celebration of Tannat is a balanced while severe and structured wine. Plenty of juicy fruit is ready to come out from behind the dry, tannic structure. There is power here as well in this wine that is firm and needs to age. Drink from 2019. Ranked #4 on the 2015 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Best Buys. Score - 93 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 2015). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
