La Vendimia Palacios Remondo 2011 Wine Review
Natalie's Score: 90/100Hauntingly savoury and delicious. Must be a typo on the price for such quality. Full-bodied and smooth with incredible texture. From the hands of a master.
Food pairings: chili con carne, lamb ragout.

When we see Alvaro Palacios’ wines hit the shelves we happily snap them up, knowing they won’t be around for long. La Vendimia is his basic, entry level Rioja – not a serious wine, but very quaffable and at a great price. Fresh and bright, full of ripe fruits, a little wild herb and spice, this is a great option for entertaining a crowd. Tasted November 2012
|This wine is simultaneously modern and old school. Modern, because this fresh, bright, flavourful red is the product of a cutting-edge winery; old school, because it’s made with a higher percentage of Garnacha — a practice more common in Rioja Baja where superstar winemaker Alvaro Palacios hails from. Look for aromas of blackberry jam, fresh raspberry and a hint of Mediterranean country herbs (aka, garrigue). A consistent value, enjoy this wine.|
