Vintages Wine Panel: The vineyards of Sonoma Coast have a long, cool, even-keeled growing season. Fog and winds from the nearby Pacific Ocean moderate temperatures throughout the growing season leading to an ideal slow-ripening process. The autumn is extended and the increased hang time results in highly concentrated aromas and flavours (apple, pear, citrus and vanilla amongst them) and crisp acids. La Crema ages this wine in a combination of both new and seasoned French and American oak for seven months, lending the wine a pretty smoky/oaky flavour. My note: Big, round and lovely with butterscotch, smoke, green apples and peach.

Chardonnay food pairings: pork roast, stuffed roasted chicken.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
