Natalie's Score: 94/100

A full-bodied Californian white wine with classic Chardonnay aromas of green apple, peach, butterscotch and smoke. Layered and complex. Kistler is known for producing benchmark Californian Chardonnay and it shows in this example. The 2013 vintage was bottled unfiltered and unfined and therefore may leave a natural sediment in the bottle. Pair with quail or Cornish hen.

Chardonnay food pairings: lobster with melted butter, barbecued pork, roast chicken, beef bourguignon.

A rich, creamy Chardonnay with butterscotch and hint of ripe lemon aromas. Luscious palate with ripe tropical fruit, butterscotch, vanilla and ripe lemon. Silky satiny mouthfeel and lingering butterscotch that melts smoothly into lemon- absolutely delicious! Enjoy with buttery seared scallops.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Decadent. Deep lemon colour with aromas and flavours of lemon meringue pie, butterscotch, apple, butter, yogurt, cedar ,blossoms, cream corn, sweet spices. Rich and creamy with an on and on finish of just about everything...This is a Chardonnay lover's Chardonnay. Pair with a seafood rich dinner or just savour it on it's own. This is a great gift.
Tasted: February 2016
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Sweet tree fruit, pineapple, creme brulee, with flinty minerality on the nose and palate, with an absolutely incredible texture. So rich and dense you can practically chew this iconic Chardonnay. Slight tannins on the long and layered finish. Absolutely gorgeous, a must try if you appreciate robust oaked Chardonnay. Tasted February 2016. 95 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
This Californian Chardonnay is perhaps the best-known and most respected of Chardonnays in a state that's famous for them. The 2013 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is lovely, long and luxurious. - Community Wine Reviews
