Vintages Wine Panel: This is Pinot Gris for those who like a little minerality in their wines: unsurprisingly it’s from Alsace, which is a promised land of sorts for mineral-fanatics. Wonderfully delicate layers of clay and wet stones take the lead here, with pretty floral and orchard-fruit notes adding complexity. Sports a medium body and silky-smooth texture, culminating in a crisp finish. A nice and refreshing contemplative sipper. My note: Fleshy ripe peaches and apricot with the freshness of a June morning. Lovely, endless pleasure as you rock slowly back and forth in your hammock.
Pinot Gris food pairings: stuffed crab, scallops in a white wine sauce.
