rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Saved this one for my birthday. I love Rioja and especially Gran Reserva - this one is 11 yrs old and maybe I'm crazy but it's as smooth as an aged Burgundy. This is why Rioja is my favourite - smooth tannins, I could drink the whole bottle. But I should share with my wife.
rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Nov 19, 2013: Medium ruby, barely showing its 12 years. Lovely nose, still showing vibrant cherry and raspberry fruit, dark chocolate, tobacco, leather, baking spice and dried flower notes. On the palate, sour cherry, red currant, dried herb, fennel and toasty, with fresh acidity and gentle tannins culminating in a medium long finish. The wine steps up a notch with 30min air, and is drinking wonderfully now. One of my favorite wines with grilled beef tenderloin and grape tomatoes.
At 11 years old, this lively 100% Tempranillo is perfectly hitting its stride and a bargain to boot. Deep garnet colour with classic aromas of leather, dates, fresh and dried cherry, smoked meat and earth. Quite dry, but still rich and nicely maturing, smooth-textured wine. Still some grip left in the tannins suggesting it will last a few more years yet. Excellent length. Source: Vintages Wine Panel

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
