Mocha and dark chocolate on the nose of this full-bodied, smooth red wine from generous oak aging. Supple and smooth and very accessible. Flavours of fleshy ripe black plums. Nice price.
Food pairings: grilled pork ribs, steak.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:
A blend of Shirza, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, and Merlot, from the terrific 2012 vintage, the colour is medium deep ruby red, the nose shows grilled peppers, scorched earth, and black berry. Medium-full bodied, with great fruit concentration, this is a wine built to be enjoyed with virtually any BBQ fare. Well structured, I'd recommend enjoying with gourmet burgers or flank steak sandwhiches. Tasted April 2015. 89+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:
A Shiraz-Cab Franc blend with a fragrant nose of red fruit, vanilla & baking spice. Juicy palate shows lots of red fruit, spice, vanilla & oak. Dry with a well- balanced mouthfeel and a long spicy red fruit finish.
This full-bodied red wine is a blend of 48% Shiraz, 23% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot grapes. The Family Tree name refers to the three Speck brothers who run this winery in Niagara. - Community Wine reviews
