A savoury and delicious Niagara red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes with rich aromas of fleshy black fruit and cedar brush. The 2010 vintage was a strong one and it shows in the glass. Polished tannins. Pair with grilled meats.

Cabernet Merlot food pairings: beef, pork or lamb roast with grilled vegetables.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Henry Of Pelham's Estate Cab Merlot from Short Hills Bench, Ont VQA is garnet red with a tart plum and red currant nose with touches of pepper. The palate gives red plum, forest floor, pepper, some baking spice and vegetal hints of green pepper. It's dry, medium-bodied with a long tangy red fruit finish. This ought to go on your Thanksgiving wine list...or maybe you should try it today?
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red with a slight garnet hue, the 2010 Cab-Merlot blend is a big wine that's showing beautifully now after half a decade of aging. Tart field berry, vanilla, herbs, and spice on the nose and palate. A big wine with great structure, it's drinking beautifully now and will continue to for a few more years. Enjoy with beef tenderloin, mushroom risotto, aged cheddar. Tasted August 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
