Heartland Stickleback Red Ben Glaetzer 2010 Wine Review
Natalie's Score: 89/100Incredible price for this quality. Loaded with big black fruit and lots of mouth-watering acidity. Great wine for big meals, especially those involving Winemaker Ben Glaetzer also makes the Mitolo wines in McLaren Vale and the Heartland wines in the Langhorne Creek region. Stickleback is the Heartland winery’s entry-level red wine. It’s mostly made from cabernet sauvignon and shiraz grapes with a dash of Dolcetto and lagrein grapes.
Food pairings: steak. Best Beef Wine

|Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:|
Rich peppery blackberry and freshly picked cherry flavours packed into a full bodied, fruit driven red. Structured but approachable tannin is balanced by fresh acidity and warm alcohol. Ready to drink but has the concentration to hold for 4-5 years. Perfect alongside a juicy bacon cheeseburger. Tasted March 2014.
|This is the winery's "starter wine," but it's no junior in taste. This robust red wine is a blend of Cabernet and Shiraz, along with the Italian grapes Dolcetto and Lagrein. - Community Wine Reviews|
