Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Always a terrific wine and the 2015 is no different. Black fruit , plum, coffee, toast, and milk chocolate. 90 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Raspberry and black fruit aromas with black cherry, vanilla, and tobacco flavors on the palate. Tannins were tight on the initial taste but softened up with some air. Pair with a bacon cheeseburger or grilled steak.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Delicious ripe strawberry, sweet spice, mocha and hint of smoke on a medium-bodied Cab. Great pairing for roast beef.
Nov. 2017
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Classic cassis aromas dominate the nose, while oak more than matches the fruit on the palate. Oak takes some smoke and charred elements to the forefront. Perfect BBQ wine.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Med-full bodied. Prominent cherry and blackberry aromas and flavour- coffee and woody notes on the finish. Tannins a bit grippy- could use a few years in the cellar. Pair with BBQ hamburgers with grilled onions. Tasted Nov 2017
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Incredibly fruity. Dark red and black fruit. Jam, chutney, smoke, vanilla, chocolate, baked fruit, baked pie filling, almost some notes of cherry syrup. On the palate, dark skinned plum, dark cherry and cassis with rich smoke and vanilla forever! Medium acidity, medium plus tannins and body. Pair with bacon wrapped fillet mignon and roast beef.
89 points. November 2017
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2015 vintage of Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon (H3) was tasted in November 2017 after decanting 2h. Yielding from Columbia Valley, this wine is 14.5% ABV. Ruby red, aromas of ripe red field berries and a hint of smoked back bacon and black peppercorn. Medium astringency, tangy, medium plus acidity, fruit forward and well balanced. Medium - full bodied, jammy and playful on the palate. Persistence of red fruit and a finish of medium duration. This wine is ready to enjoy now. Recommend pairing with BBQ or braised red meats. Crowd pleaser. 89 points.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Inviting nose with lovely floral, black fruit and mild spice aromas followed by layered plum, cassis, mocha, spice and mocha flavours. A superb value priced Washington State Cab Sauv! Enjoy with medium+ bodied red with gourmet bacon jalapeño burgers. Tasted Nov 2017 by @sommsosa | bepsoketastings.ca
