Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

I find this such a bittersweet review of this wine, but I shall endeavor to tell you about my findings!
Recently at the mini salon that I attended last week, there was one Agency, Agence Élixir, there were people swarming around this table and seemed all to be in a transfixed state of euphoria. They seemed unable to move and so I muscled my way in to see what all the fuss was about. There were fewer bottles than the other agencies at their table, but obviously it was quality and not quantity that mattered. I tried most of the selection including a $100 bottle though this was not that one...believe me...I didn't spit once at this table!
Greppicaia .....intoxicating..simply a must buy , and at $47.25 it was a tad on the steep side! On that night, we were given order forms, we would then return two nights later to collected our boxes of wines...well!!!!!! There were only 10 bottles in the store and I was order number 11......sadness is the only comment I can express right now! But I will track one down...I will!!!!

So upon my one and only time to sample this wine.......this is what I tasted.....

On the nose, this is a seriously intense wine, ripe fruits and spices and then almost a toasted marshmallow note. On the palate the fruits are of a complexity of berries, red and black intertwining so delicately yet this full bodied wine balanced the delivery on your palate with distinction. As it accelerated to the finish the fruits became more of dried figs and a delicious velvety chocolate as it ended with incredible tannins! ...now do you see why I am sad.... Simply delicious!
Now bottoms up whilst I go off to find my very own bottle!
