Aromas of jammy purple plums and blueberries on the nose. The palate opens up luxuriously, smooth and full-bodied with more lip-smacking tasty flavours of dark fruit. An amazing wine for BBQ ribs or chicken wings. Fire up the grill!

Zinfandel food pairings: BBQ ribs, chicken wings, spaghetti, pizza, lamb shank.

Reviews and Ratings

Dereck rated this wine as 100/100
Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I had this wine last night with grilled chicken, and it was a match made in heaven. Named after the gnarled 35 - 80 year old vines, which is supposed to produce fewer berries, but more intense flavor. This old vine Zinfandel is full of juicy ripe berry fruits, pepper, smoke and toasty oak. Great with many grilled foods including ribs, wings, chicken and pork chops.
Brad rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A nice fruit forward zin, at first taste the fruit flavours and aromas really jump out of this wine, loads of body and flavour, big flavours of blackberries and dark fruits, this is a great value wine for the price
Pair this full-bodied Californian red wine with flavourful meat dishes. This wine was awarded a Silver Medal at The Tasting's 2013 World Wine Championships. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
