Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

When in Rome? Or in my case..When dining at Vittoria Trattoria in Ottawa. Great value full-bodied Chianti Classico. Luscious dark fruit, oak, leather, smoke, earthy and herbaceous. Tannins were there but smoothed over with the fruit. Pair with meat, game, hard Italian cheeses. Our server decanted at least one hour as we were there with a party.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Gabbiano Chianti Classico Reserva DOCG displays violet, red fruits and spicy aromas of black pepper and sweet licorice. The palate is mouth-filling and warm, with red fruit flavors balanced by round tannins, a fresh acidity and long finish.

The fruit for the 2009 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG was harvested from some
of the finest Sangiovese vines on the Castello di Gabbiano estate, planted at an
elevation of 750 feet on southeast facing slopes in dry-farmed marly-calcareous soils.
A few parcels also came from the nearby Brotini and Cipressi Vineyards, with vines
at similar elevations, soils and exposures.
A cold and rainy spring delayed fruit set in 2009, but a dry summer with warm days
and cool evenings allowed the grapes to ripen fully and evenly. Warm temperatures
persisted into the fall, and at harvest, mature clusters with thick, colorful skins were harvested at peak ripeness. Source: Agent

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
