A lime-fresh French sparkling wine from the Loire Valley. Vovrays are under-rated, and this one shows why with its terrific refreshment o the palate. Serve on its own well chilled or as a companion to seafood and shellfish.

Vouvray food pairings: serve at 10° as an aperitif, or with goat cheese, Japanese food, all shelfish, esp. oysters, or dry roasted chicken or in a cream sauce, salads, sushi, smoked salmon, trout.

Reviews and Ratings

This bone dry, sparkling chenin blanc from the Loire Valley will take your breath away. It is made in the champagne method from 100% organic grapes without added sulphur or sugar (non dose). Pale yellow with a persistent bead with a nose of honey, quince and citrus. On the palate it has lots of fruit, a chalky minerality and a viscous texture that is tamed by a jolt of acidity that brings everything together in perfect harmony! This wine will develop and age gracefully for many years. It is only available to members of Cellar Direct Wine Club. RP 88 -- Wine & Spirits 93 -- Stewart Tanzer 90
