Reviews and Ratings

Pitch black in flavour and hue: this is a brooding, blockbuster, don't mess with me wine. Holy smoke. Black currant, black, charred plum and roasted blackberry. This wine has walked through the fires of hell and lived to tell the tale. Pair with grilled meats. It's the only thing this wine knows. MINE: This wine is 100% Malbec and that just about tells the tale of this wine because it is a true expression of that grape. Blackberry, black cherry and black plum and earthy violets on the nose, loads of concentrated blackberry, black plum, cherry, black pepper and dark chocolate on the palate. Aged 12 months in oak barrels. Wow. Definitely barbecue fare. OTHER: Terry Dineen rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review: I am a huge fan of the great 2013 Argentinian vintage. The best one I have tasted has to be this wonderful Malbec. Smooth tannins, long on the finish. Full of fruit. Rush out to buy as many bottles as you can afford. OTHER: Michael Reid rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Nice fruit. Very drinkable. OTHER: Fincas Patagonicas Consultant winemaker Jean-Claude Berrout was the winemaker at Petrus for 44 years. His influence has been key in the evolution of more elegant and refined expressions of Malbec. OTHER: A solid wine with blackberry and black pepper character. Full body, chewy tannins and a fresh and cool finish. So polished and beautiful. From grapes grown in Valle de Uco. Pomerol's legend Jean-Claude Berrouet consults here. Better in 2018. Score - 95 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, May 20, 2016). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
