A beautifully chardonnay, especially for this price point! Full-bodied and just the right amount of oak. Some bright tree fruit on the mid-palate.

Chardonnay food pairings: butter roasted turkey, green salads with nuts, pork chops in cream sauce.

More Wine Reviews and Ratings

Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

An Argentinian Chardonnay with a nice balance of crispness and fruit with a smooth finish. Aromas of peaches and vanilla with a creamy texture and citrus flavours.
Location and vineyards
For the production of the varietal range, Finca El Origen owns exceptional vineyards in the Uco Valley, Las Pintadas vineyards, at the foot of the Andes Mountains, 1.090 mts asl. The Uco Valley sub appellation is one of the most promising wine regions within the province of Mendoza. This area lies southeast of the capital city. The medium to low fertility soils are very permeable and well drained. Due to its altitude, the climate is mild, despite the great differences in temperature between night and day. The vineyards are also naturally healthy, thanks to the warm, dry breezes that blow throughout the vineyard's spring and summer growth cycle.
Winemaker's notes
Bright greenish yellow. Its complex aromas of tropical fruits among which include pineapple and melon, combined with pleasant floral and citrus notes. Elegant wine with great volume, pleasant acidity and long finish. Serve between 10/12ºC(50°F).

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
