Reviews and Ratings

Bodegas Valdemar. Rustic with tanned leather and dried herbs. Not fruit forward, but very enjoyable. Mouth-watering acidity. Pair with juicy lamb. MINE: Gran Reserva wines are produced during the winery's best vintages and are oak aged and bottle aged to greater complexity and maturity of aroma and flavour. This wine won a Silver Medal at the International Wine Challenge in 2015. OTHER: Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Lovely notes from oak aging emanate from the glass. Intense toffee on first nose followed by fresh berries, coffee, sweet spices, more toffee and horse saddle. This wine just might be peaking now... Medium(+) bodied with smooth tannins and refreshing acidity. Long length on a toffee and berry finish. Very nice indeed. Enjoy with a juicy medium-rare grilled steak. Tasted: January 2016. OTHER: This wine won a Silver Medal at the 2016 International Wine & Spirits Competition. OTHER: Woodsmoke, warm earth, black olive, black cherry and spice emerge in this complex, gracefully mature wine. It's smoky, spicy and still quite structured on the palate. In its prime drinking window now, it should impress through 2019. Savour with grilled or smoked meats. (Vintages panel, June 2017). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
