This Italian sparkling rosé is made using the Classic Method and a premium blend of 60% Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) and 40% Chardonnay grapes, vinified as a rosé. The vines are planted at 1000 metres above sea level and develop great complexity of flavour from field strawberry to rose petal. Perfect for planked salmon.

Reviews and Ratings

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

A lovely sparkling rosé, typical of Ferrari style. Vinified in a Classic Method with 60% pinot nero and 40 % chardonnay grapes hand-harvested in the high altitude Trentino mountain vineyards. Dry, fresh and elegant it brings aromas and flavours of strawberries with subtle floral notes. Lees aging provided for an attractive bread-crust notes and added layers of complexity. Persistent bubbles and a long, lingering finish. A perfect match to a sinfully creamy oven-baked Brie with warm berry topping.
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

In 1952, Giulio Ferrari, a man with no heir sold his small Trento winery to Bruno Lunelli to continue in his footsteps and continue crafting his superior quality sparkling wines which at the time were only produced in very small quantities.
But that was all about to change.
Over time, with much hard work and a vision, Bruno Lunelli and his sons were able to transform Ferrari from a relatively small operation vineyard to the celebratory toast of Italy and the leader in the Metodo Classico sparkling wine market.
Today, the Lunelli Group is led by the family’s third generation and still abides by faithful principles.
This sparkling rosé is made with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay hailing from hillside vineyards around Trento and was matured for at least 24 months on its lees.
Charming pale strawberry color with tiny bright bubbles.
Subtle and fresh aromas of sliced strawberries & pomegranate, warm caramel sauce and citrus zest.
On the palate, the mousse is exquisitely playful with hints of bursting red berries followed by a luscious and persistent finish… Is this what heaven taste like?
Delectable on its own!
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Ferrari has been producing world-class Metodo Classico wines since 1902. Ferrari's Rosé was first produced in 1969, now 66 years later they continue the tradition of producing this lively and elegant copper/rose-gold coloured sparkling wine. Composed of 60% Pinot Nero and 40% Chardonnay, each hand harvested from the steep hillsides around Trento, it matured on its lees for over 24 months to gain complexity and body. Small field berries, pastry, honeysuckle, and orange zest on the nose, the palate offers sweet pear with a refreshing flinty minerality. Very versatile with food, from sweet and tangy meat balls to Margherita pizza, it's an elegant treat and so value priced. Tasted October 2015. 92 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Astonishing and attractive blush pink traditional method sparkling at a tremendous value! Rose petal, pink grapefruit, apricots and hints of toasted hazelnut aromas and flavours hijacked my senses at just one sip. This bubbly is dry with a crisp acidity and a refreshing medium-short finish. A classic apero! Brides to be take note. This wine boasts all the luxurious qualities and integrity of fine Champagne at virtually half the cost. Some of my food pairing favourites include: bacon wrapped scallops, smoked salmon canapés and king crab legs.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is an exceptional value priced traditional method produced from premium Pinot Noir (60%) and Chardonnay (40%) grapes grown above 1000 feet above sea level. This Rose label was first produced in 1969 and it's quality shows. Non vintage (NV). 12.5% ABV, brilliant salmon pink colour with a slightly brick hue. The winemaker has built this wine on the premise that "one glass must call the other" and inviting it is, featuring a dry, crisp, mouthwatering mouthfeel, long finish and persistence of red currant, orange blossom and baked almond croissant. This wine is bursting with flavour, is delicate with fine bubbles and pairs well with raw yellowfin tuna sashimi, margherita pizza, General Tao Chicken, Asian Fusion dishes and calls for its versatility to be put to the test with any food or on its own. Ferrari has been named #1 sparkling wine producer of the year in 2015. Aged a minimum of 2 years before disgorgement, this wine is ready to enjoy as soon as you get your hands on it.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Made with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay using the Classic Method, your senses are awakened by strawberry, raspberry, biscuit and rose petals. Pale salmon in color with delicate bubbles, this wine is not only pretty to look at but will please your palate with its crisp and elegant mouthfeel and long finish of fresh strawberries and rose petals. Tasted October 19, 2015 - Ferrari Portfolio Tasting.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ferrari Rose is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from the hillside vineyard in around Trento Italy. Pale salmon hue, with berry, citrus and light toast on the nose. On the palate, the Pinot Noir component shows a bit more structure than the Ferrari Brut, with notes of strawberry and apple to the creamy texture. Also a solid value for a traditional method rose sparkling wine.
