Remarkably toasty and robust -- reminds me of Bollinger Champagne, but this has its own story. Toasted bread and crisp orchard fruit. Perfect as an aperitif or companion to shellfish or seafood.

Sparkling food pairings: spinach salad with red berries, pomegranate and goat cheese, spinach souffle, pan-fried freshwater fish.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Featherstone's Cuvée Joy bubbly has been winning impressive awards each year. Featherstone continues to use their signature bottle cap (crown) closure beautified with a bright red ribbon just like a fancy holiday present gift wrapped for that special person in your life. This premium Blanc de Blancs is produced using only Ontario Chardonnay to create this fine sparkling wine. The crown closure preserves the lively bubbles, rich fruit flavour, and baked bread notes that are locked inside. The palate shows crisp and clean orchard fruit and minerality with a beautiful palate cleansing mousse that leaves you thirsting for that next sip. It's pure Joy! Joy makes a wonderful gift for those that are fortunate enough to get their hands on this small production Canadian bubbly. 92 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A fabulous expression of a Niagara sparkling, showcasing a wonderful vintage. Elegance is brimming from the bottle - Dry with citrus notes, pear, peach, floral and toast. Persistent delicate bubbles, a pleasant acidity and great complexity.
Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Upon opening it gave off some weird early aromas, but 1/2 hour later it was truly lovely. In fact one I recommend you buy. It had everything floral, fruit and a touch of yeast for those Champagne lovers out there.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely sparking from a thoughtful Niagara producer. 100% Chardonnay done in the traditional method and with some significant lees aging.
Pale lemon colouration.
Some serious lactic hints on the palate. Sourdough, yogurt, lime juice, granny smith, and white pepper. Very aromatic!
The flavours are pure and lean - lots of lemoncake and minerality. Still lots of verve, even though it has a few years under its belt.
Perfect picnic wine. Highly recommended.
From the Twenty Mile Bench in the Niagara Escarpment wine region, Featherstone's Joy Premium Cuvée is a perfect aperitif to toast the New Year in or a great companion to fresh steamed lobster with a citrus butter sauce. This sparkler is made in the traditional method with 100 % Chardonnay. Look for a fine and persistent mousse with white flowers and fresh baked bread on the nose and palate. Nicely done. - Community Wine Reviews
