This is a good vintage for this Canadian Chardonnay aged in Canadian oak, which imparts a distinctive aroma and nuance. The wine was fermented with wild airborne yeasts and then the wine was aged in oak barrels made from trees that grow near the winery. Finishes with vanilla smoke.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Oh Canada! Fermented with local indigenous yeast and in oak barrels sourced from the banks of the Grand River in Brantford, Ontario. The result is a rich Chardonnay with a lovely medium lemon colour. Niagara stone fruit, apple, citrus, honey, butter, vanilla and nutmeg. Good acidity to balance this rich medium bodied white wine. Long length with a mouth coating finish. Enjoy over the next 3 years with seafood, salmon, poultry.
Christmas turkey suggestion.
Tasted: December 2014
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Bright straw colour, soft, full, citrus, pear, spice, vanilla, hint of toast and stem. Subdued and creamy.
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Abundant aromas of caramel, vanilla, pineapple, and bourbon, carry through to a luscious mouth feel, and a persistent buttery finish.
Wonderful with smoked salmon or duck.
Tasted May 2017.
