Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Black with a purple rim, the nose shows expressive black currant, black berry, black forest cake, and sweet vanilla. Rich and luscious, with great acidity, the concentrated fruit persists on the silky smooth palate. Absolutely delicious - enjoy now for a special date night in or cellar for two decades. Enjoy 2016-2026. Tasted January 2016. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a wine for the cellar. This full-bodied Cabernet is a deep ruby purple colour with youthful persistent tannins and welcomed refreshing acidity. Black cherry, plum, vanilla, black tea, cassis, graphite and black currant leaf complete the aromas and flavours. A warm lingering cake spice and alcohol finish. Suggest decanting if you will be enjoying this wine in the near future. This brute has cellar potential of 10+ years. Great gift for a collector. Otherwise, serve with rare/medium-rare red meat. Salt;fat;protein rule.
Tasted: January 2016
This wine is named after writer Goethe's famous fictional character Faust who said: "If feelings fail you, vain will be your course, and idle what you plan unless your art springs from your soul with elemental force." This is quoted on the back label. Full-bodied with black fruit aromas.- Community Wine Reviews
