Reviews and Ratings

Debbie Ingram - CSW, WSET Level 1 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Pinot Noir has a soft, velvety texture with subtle tannins and minerality. Loads of red fruit including strawberries, raspberry, tart cherry on the nose and palette and earthy undertones. The final blend was aged in French oak for 12 months, this wine has finesse and elegance resembling a Burgundian wine. Pair with a variety of foods, from a grilled salmon to a classic french dish such as Beef Bourginon or sip on its own and enjoy.
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Don Maximiano Errázuriz founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870 and he was the first to plant French grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley, Chile.
His initiative and creativity were handed down to future generations and, in just over a century, his descendants consolidated the winery and positioned their wines among the world’s most noteworthy.
Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano’s descendant, Eduardo Chadwick. Eduardo is the fifth generation of his family to lead this exceptional estate. An industrial engineer by profession, he joined the administration of Viña Errázuriz after graduating from University. He learned viticulture and winemaking from his father and later studied in Bordeaux.
Celebrating their 145th anniversary this year (2015), the future is looking bright for Errazuriz, even Mr. Robert Parker agrees: “In my opinion, what this estate will produce in the next twenty years will completely surpass the previous twenty years.” Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
This Pinot Noir’s uniqueness can be traced all the way back to Burgundy. In an effort to craft the best Pinot Noir possible, Eduardo Chadwick took his winemaking team to the famous cool climate France region and brought back 3 or 4 clones to plant in his vineyards that possessed similar soils. His efforts paid back, producing a lovely and supple wine.
Pale ruby in color with loads of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, earthiness, soft vanilla and a hint of roasted beet aromas.
Light and dry in body, the palate is well integrated with earthiness, sour cherries and minerallity. Tannins and acidity are in perfect harmony to make this wine a great sipper. Or, enjoy with a rustic mushroom soup and crispy garlicky toast covered in melted Swiss cheese!
