Classic Californian cabernet: beautifully sculpted with enticing aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and some dark spices. This is an extremely consistent producer year after year. Makes me want to hunt some ducks for dinner, or perhaps just order duck a l'orange at my local restaurant specializing in that dish. Some vanilla spice and smoke on the finish. This will cellar well.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: slow-roasted beef, grilled-rare steaks, grilled chicken, pot roast with wild mushrooms, prime rib with a Cabernet jus.

Reviews and Ratings

Brad rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

a very nice mid-range cab, I really liked this wine for its smoky cab aromas and flavours consistent with a well structured cab, aromas of black cherries and smoke float through this wine, if you are looking for a nice cab at a moderate price this is a great wine for you
Don't be misled: this deeply fruity Cab also displays plenty of power and structure. Oodles of dark cherry, blackcurrant, woodsmoke and grilled herbs delight on the nose and follow through on the palate. The tannic foundation here will allow the wine to cellar till 2018+, though it's drinking well now. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Oct. 2013
