Classic Californian cabernet: beautifully sculpted with enticing aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and some dark spices. This is an extremely consistent producer year after year. Makes me want to hunt some ducks for dinner.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: slow-roasted beef and roasted parsnips, grilled-rare steaks.

Duckhorn delivers big-time again in 2009 with their Decoy – despite the name, this is the real deal. Deep and rich aromas of boysenberry, blueberry, cassis, vanilla, pipe smoke and mocha. Robust, generous and juicy on the palate, yet sleek and very dry, with bright acidity and ripe, youthful tannins. Spicy notes emerge in waves on the long, layered finish. Cellar this top-notch Napa Cab for 3-5 years, or decant and enjoy tonight. Source: Vintages Wine Panel
