A blockbuster red wine that's made from a blend of Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%) grapes. Loaded with aromas of blackberry, cassis, tar and toasty oak. Decant 2 hours or cellar for a few years. This robust red was matured in a combination of old wood and tank. Great value. Produced by E.A.R.L. Fauque, Prop.-récolt.

Food pairings: roast beef, prime rib.

Roman viticulture dates back to the second century BCE in the Vacqueyras region, and the wines are noted in tax records along with harvest conditions. This long traditional of winemaking is evident in the consistently great quality of wines from this region. Vacqueyras was awarded Cru status in 1990. - Community Wine reviews
