I love it! Cedar forest floor with luscious ripe and wild cherries. Succulent, mouth-watering, juicy and rich with smooth, full-bodied weight. This is why I drink so much the Rhone syrah!

Reviews and Ratings

Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby in colour, this Syrah has intense flavours of black cherry, cassis, wood smoke, black olive, red cherry, licorice, chocolate, coffee, cloves, leather, black pepper, and savoury forest floor.
The soft tannins and refreshing acidity carry the flavours on the long, elegant finish.
Drink now, or cellar until 2018.
Pair with rich red meats and game.
Date tasted: June 2013.
With the purchase of this estate in 2006, Marcel Guigal added another jewel to his richly decorated crown. Aged for 24 months in demi-muid (600 litre) barrels, this cuvée, which has a touch of Viognier, nearly received our highest Coup de Coeur rating. The oak ageing has given it pretty vanilla notes, while the spice and smoke elements commingle with red berry notes. The palate shows a lot of density and structure, but also a beautiful silkiness, with pleasant licorice accents into the finish. This superb wine will require patience to fully develop in complexity. Score: 2 (out of 3) Source: Guide Hachette
