This robust Californian cabernet is almost chiseled in structure. Loaded with dark fruit aromas and flavours, it delivers. Generous character with great fruit, structure, complexity and balance. Now let's try it with duck comfit, shall we?

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: slow-roasted beef, grilled chicken, pot roast with wild mushrooms, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Worth every penny! This is the wine for the collector on your shopping list. Ripe dark cherry, black plum, cassis, raisin, prune, vanilla, garrigue, tobacco leaf, eucalyptus, leather, cigar box, pencil shavings. The palate is showing drying tannins, vanilla, wet cedar, blueberry, warming alcohol. California goodness. Drinking beautifully now but could possibly cellar another 5-7 years. I'll drink to that! Good cuts of beef with this wine please and savour.
Decanting suggested.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
