Vintages Wine Panel: Classic Midi blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. This food-friendly wine is dominated by aromas of cherry, fig, dark chocolate, vanilla and plum. At first, it is dry and fruity with a pleasant ripeness, but by the mid-palate, tannins and acids come forward giving the wine a fine structure. Fairly long finish on a good frame. My note: Lifted notes of cherry liqueur, black plums and spice box. Full-bodied, supple and smooth. Delicious and straight-forward. Syrah Grenache Mourvèdre Carignan food pairings: game meats, gourmet sausages, roast beef, lamb.
